BrighterDaze Farm

Welcome to BrighterDaze Farm!  We are located 60 miles from the Chicago loop, but it feels like we live in another state.  When anyone visits our farm they invariably say “I didn’t realize Illinois could be so beautiful this close to Chicago.”

We moved here in 1999.  At the time, we only had five horses and no real reason to acquire anymore, as we only had five riders in the family.

One of our horses was gaited.  We decided we liked the way he moved and felt under saddle, so we started to look at other gaited horses.  That’s when we discovered the Rocky Mountain Horse.

Soon thereafter, we bought our first Rocky, Buddy, a two-year-old black stallion.  We had every intention of gelding Buddy, but Buddy had other ideas.  He was in love...and so was his mare.  Before we knew it, Sonny was on the way.

Sonny, even though he was half Quarter Horse, was a beautifully gaited little colt, and Buddy had past on all of his admirable qualities.  Sonny was also very gentle, affectionate, and intelligent.

We were so impressed with Buddy and Sonny, we decided we wanted to carry on the admirable qualities the Rocky Mountain Horse.  So, we sought out a couple more Rockies--two fine mares--and the rest is history.  (A lot of you have lived this story!)

Now we are committed to producing the finest quality Rockies and bringing out the exceptional natural traits of the breed.
